Master Cylinder Braces?

Postby matt dunn » Sun Aug 30, 2009 11:09 pm

Has anyone fitted master Cylinder braces to a car and noticed any effect?

http://www.drivenperformance.co.nz/scri ... roduct=873

http://www.trademe.co.nz/Browse/Listing ... =238308404

Looking at possibly doing something like that to my car to help,
but it's a waste of time and weight if they don't really have an effect?

The theroy is good, but has anyone tried them in practise?

Everyone I've ever met with one says the difference is like night and day. The Mrs has one and has nothing but good things to say about it

I've got a cusco one on my EP82, had it for several years now and would never remove it. You get a more direct feel and zero flex. Well worth spending the coin on. Made a huge difference for me on Manfeild.

I have one and love it, first time I used the brakes after installing it I got a big fright because of how much sooner they came on compared to with the normal firewall flex.
I was pessimistic the whole time I was installing it because of the way the strut tower flexed but once you preload everything its fine.
When in doubt, down and out.

iv got a cusco one too on the mr2 and i couldnt beleive the amount of difference when i first installed it, its amazing how much flex there must actually be without one, id highly recomend having one no matter what car or what its used for, if anyone comes across one for an ae91\ae92 let me know as id like one for the corolla

I've got one built into my strut brace on the Altezza. Haven't taken it on the track so haven't really paid much attention to whether or not its made an improvement. Any ideas on how tight you should do the bolt up against the master cylinder? I didn't want to over tighten it incase I damaged something.

not sure about the ae92 fire walls, but the fire wall flex in the ae85 is massive, next time get a mate to pump the pedal and watch the master and booster move 8O
