I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

Yeah, and there is no list of cars it works with.
I doubt it works with non OBD cars (like my 1998 GT4).
All they say works with 1996+ vehicles, which a bit broad, kind of false advertisement.

Installation:

The Kiwi connects to any 1996 and up vehicle through the OBDII port often located under your steering column.

What do you mean?
Its not one of those magic magnets that make your car use less gas....somehow.
Its basically just a measuring tool that teaches you to keep your foot off the gas.

It just takes data off the OBDII connector (airflow, duty cycle etc), and calculates MPG.
Will not work with most of japanese performance cars until the era of Altezzas and such.

Those MPG meter are gimmic anyway, as it will display current fuel consumption which is not true in long term. Also long term avg. is useless, due to nature that it has been done, and you don't know what you were doing wrong.
As I stated many times before the most economical acceleration will be near full throttle, that thing will show consumption going through the roof during "burn" period, and mislead the driver.

To properly measure economy, you will need to output engine efficiency on the display, not current "miles per gallon" or km/l. Efficiency of the engine is very engine specific so you cannot make a generic cheap gadget.

By Efficiency I mean energy conversion efficiency (power extracted from a quantity of fuel) and not volumetric efficiency.

Vacuum gauges used to be popular. They do the same job.

my bimmer has this feature, its quite accurate within about 6-8km from full to empty 80ltr. tells current usage rate and liters per 100klm. and expected coverage.
really useful to remind me to stop lead footing. but being a lazy v8 its not hard to want to stomp on it.

also has a power bar?! still not sure what its for but its like how much more power is available if i put my foot down.(i think)
