oopsie on the caliper bolt

so during a nice simple change of the rear brake pads to get a WOF on the caldina, I have managed to shear the bottom caliper slide bolt in the caliper



there is only about 5mm showing from the caliper, and its stuck tight.
I am thinking something like an easy out and then I'll need to redrill it and tap or helicoil a thread in it.

any suggestions for the easiest way to sort this?

if its protruding, or sticking out the best way imo is to weld a nut over top, the heat is usually enough to free it and it will unwind easily

yeah its borderline if its enuf to weld to without welding to the caliper too. might be worth a shot though

2nd welding, could also build it up with weld before welding the nut on

easy outs suck man, dont bother, def weld a nut on

I did the same except had rounded the head because it was seized. I ended up putting a much bigger nut onto the rounded head, but I welded inside the big nut. That way your less likely to weld something other than the bolt.

I have brake line clamps, clamp off the line, take off the caliper and bring it over - have big vice and welder
