Postby Vertigo » Sun Sep 20, 2009 2:48 pm

im fitting some new piston rings, and ive noticed that they have a sort of ridge on one side, suggesting that they go in one way. any ideas?

Put it to the top side. Should have had instructions that came with the rings

there will be tiny mark stamped on the end of the rings that says what number or size or brand logo.. that will be up position.

thatd be great, thanks. post here so everyone can see.

these rings are genuine toyota, and have a very small T in the position you describe, jaypines. im guessing that that side is the one that faces up.

That little 'T' tells you the oil control ring end gap should be between 0.15mm - 0.52mm
