2tge turbo, exaust sizing?

hey, just a quick question, what size exaust shoyld i run with my 2tgeu+t setup? it a 1600, was going to use a 2 1/4 or 21/5 inch exaust wen n/a, but changed my plans.
im not looking for huge amounts of hp, but i still want it to preform nicely.

the turbo is a t25

im guessing 3 inch would be a bit over the top? and posibly give me over boosting issues (due to internail wast gate)

2.5 would be plenty, some would argue 2&1/4 id sat 2.5
