crank Trigger wheels

Postby ke25sr » Tue Sep 29, 2009 11:21 am

Can anyone here make or supply a 24 tooth crank trigger wheel and a sensor to suit.

I have a really stupid crazy fault that makes no sense, basically my ecu cant work out what one of the 4 teeth is TDC #1 so its making it real hard to start. as soon as its running its fine.

I reckon a 24 tooth trigger wheel missing a tooth will solve this and would like to know if anyone here can supply something

Thanks Y-all

What ecu are you running? if its dizzy ignition then it shouldnt matter which tooth is tdc. otherwise you could probably remove 2 or three of the 4 teeth

The Toyota Altezza Beams 3sge engine use something similar to what you are after, here is a picture of it, its mounted to the crank pulley, and sensor just bolts underneath it (think it might be 36 teeth thou)..

Its a Link G3, I know it shouldnt do it, it doesnt make sense, but going to a trigger wheel is going to be better anyway

not sure if he wired it wasted spark. Should ask

Yeah i been trying to get my hands on one to try but not keen on spending a lot on a part i plan to pull apart cut up and possibly find i cant make work

Also have a engineer seeing if he can make me a new trigger wheel for inside the dizzy.

I am exploring all options

Or remove two opposing teeth from the 24 tooth NE wheel and remove the G teeth and sensors

the 1g has 2 'wheels' in the CAS one give the rpm signal and the other is dedicated to giving the #1 tdc signal, seems to work well on my link plus.
