Altezza Tyre Question

Postby Caribeena » Wed Oct 07, 2009 7:01 pm

Hey guys,
just a quick question, i've had a quick search but couldn't find any conclusive answers so here goes...
can 225 45 17 tyres fit on the standard altezza rim? standard size is 215 45 17
Yes, no? Looking at going slighty wider to aid a little with traction mainly in the wet, and yes I will be going for a decent brand in either size to also halp this.
Thanks

my first question is what mods have you done to require the extra traction? :P

Heh, well getting some decent ones in the same size will make no end of difference.

I remember the first time I bought a decent pair of tires, OMFG!

Such a difference. 8)

As everyone's said just get some decent tyres in the OE size. No point getting 225 if they're still cheap rubbish.

Thanks guys.
Yeah they where cheapies that came with the car when we brought it a year ago. Wanli or some rubbish. No real mods apart from TRD exhaust and Tom's filter and Tannabe Suspension. Traction issues are mainly in the wet on the shiny road surfaces.
As its the wife's daily i'm not holding back on getting decent rubber. Just thought that the tiny little bit extra width would help slightly along with decent tyres.

wider tyres can actually decrease wet grip in extreme cases
as mentioned, just get the right size QUALITY tyres
