My four needs new tyres ..

pretty much have 2 optins that are being considered ..

Toyo proxies Tr1's

Id like to hear thoughts and actual product testing on both please to help sway the choice !

( tyre size is 235/45/17 , going on an mildly modded St205 Gt4 )

Good thread here to viewtopic.php?t=71633&highlight=

Asymmetric definitely seem to be taking over from directional in the performance tyre market these days

I had 595s when I first got my mags, wouldn't touch them ever again. Very average tyre imo.

federal 595 = prone to separation , cheap tyre carcass .
what do you want out of the tyre would tell you what tyre to go for , wet performance , dry handling etc , whats more important and when do you push the car the most ?

I've got the Proxies TR1's. Great tyre for the price.

Hell, if they make the back end of an MR2 controlable in the wet, they gotta be good!
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

A lot of the MX5 guys praise the T1R's, as do the MR2 guys as mentioned above.
