I tried to find information regarding battery mounting, but didnt have much luck.
Are there any guidelines available?

Another question how is that insulated from between the plate and the terminal - looks to be pretty close and not any form of insulation that i can see in that picture.
Plus don't think you actually need seperate bolts for the box and the battery, if you break the battery mount bolts chances are you've had that much of a shunt that the box is just going to split around the bolts or if it's a plastic jobbie the plastic will just break apart anyhow, then you end up with fpr's scenario

Which is not to say it's not good practice to 'future proof' any work you do incase it has to conform to those regulations later, as well as doing it as safely as possible...
But it isnt required.
Best way to find out what's gonna be okay, ring up the cert guy who's going to be looking over your car.
