Oil Catch can

Postby B_giB » Wed Oct 21, 2009 1:15 pm

I have a standard RS200 Altezza, and am wanting to install a catch can.

What is the best sort to use? Vented or sealed?

And photos would help if any Altezza owners have one installed would be great..

Thanks in advance

Only seen the turbo boys running them on Altezzas. Wouldn't mine one myself as the PCV venting into the intake makes a bit of a mess but that's just how they are.

Here's a pic of one (looks like it's sealed) http://z4.invisionfree.com/lexusaltezza ... topic=7291

Thats why I want one, to keep the intake clean.

Went to cheap chinese on my way home and they have them for $100, which I think is fair, or am I wrong?

Just make sure you have the room to fit the bigger one/s where you want to put it and can access it easily to empty.

If your ever going to put it on the track also check out the MSNZ rules so you have one big enough to meet the rules.

I also run a racing fuel filter inline with my PCV line to the catch can, I find the catch can (unless it has a difuser inside) doesnt completely filter out the oil vapour.
