well i had a climb around under Carpet Burns AE101 FXGT the other day cause shes been pestering me for ages to do something about her shitty sounding (standard apart from removed cat) exhaust
now compared to the the AE101 levins it makes things a bit more difficult as the FXGT's are shorter in the arse end.
what makes things even trickier are that she wants to stay twin exhausts...
from the rear sub-frame to the rear bumper, its only about 500mm, so this makes it really hard to actually fit something in. its just over 2m from the flexi to the rear subframe, and about 1m between the two tips at the back bumper.
what has everybody else done in this situation? any help appreciated
was thinking of going 2" all the way through (we dont want stupid amounts of noise, and its not really a huge performance machine)
other thought was possibly 2.25" up front, and into twin smaller exits (the race car is 2.25" all the way through and is probably too loud for what we want for the road car)
other ideas were putting a reso and muff in the middle section of the exhaust, and then running straight pipe to the rear, then splitting off with a Y piece to the twin tips. however am a bit concerned that long length of straight pipes after the muff/reso would end up being loud and/or droney. (would be approx 1m to the rear subframe, then the Y and 2x 90deg bends and tip (2x)
i can whip up some shitty MS paint pics if that helps?
