Compression

What should the compression be on an AE92 FX-GT 4AGE?

100 psi to low?

What kind of 4AGE is it?
Motorsport is like sex. You could take it to track and have a long, enjoyable session, or you could take it to the strip and get it over with in less than 20 seconds.

depends on cranking speed and if the engine has been running or if its a cold compression.
if its cold compression and it had 100psi across the board, i'd pay money for it

I'd check the basics before getting too worried about it, is the cam timing correct?, tried a different compression tester? is the battery charged enough to do a valid test? is the starter a different type with lower gearing? etc.

Having all 4 cylinders being completely fail, evenly, sounds unlikely.

Hard to answer a question like "is 100 too low". Need more details ie was the engine up to operating temp? Any intake restrictions? Was the compression test wet/dry? What condition was the battery/starter in? Throttle wide open? Good compression tester? Repeated tests? etc etc etc

The variation between cylinders matters more than the actual figure. It's highly unlikely for all 4 cylinders to be low on compression with little variance between them...

for cold compression, unless it had oil in the bores, that is some pretty high cold compression. some of the engines we get at work which hot test at 220-230 only cold test at 130-140.

yeah i brought it from a engine importers then had it sitting at my place for a few months, couldnt get it going so comp tested, all were 0psi, had the exhauts cam in 180 out re tested all 155-160 without being run in at least 6 months
