doesnt having the bar going across mean its likely that its an open diff since the bar is needed to join the two spider gears together? altough in saying that the 4agze's seem to be backwards in that having the bar means its lsd and no bar means it isnt lsd.

then if you go to the c52's which are definately not lsd they do have the bar.

:?: :? :?:

Most LSD's I've seen have no "bar" in the middle... but the easiest way to check is to shove in an axle and see if they both spin the same way.

Open = bar across
I think the lsd equiped curren/celicas (fwd) have a viscous lsd. Viscous lsd gearboxes have an extra set of splines on one side

Ken
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

yea not a LSD type, so maybe a S54-02A/-06A?

the shorter gear ratio gearbox, your thinking of is the E56?
Easy to identify as it has an external gearbox cooler) and where only on the superstrut SS-II in the early years. As far as I know.

BEAMS SS-III still had the S54-06D (same with previous years) but had a helical lsd, instead of the viscous LSD.
