Asymmetric tyres rotating on staggered tyre setup?

Postby Crampy » Sun Dec 06, 2009 3:07 pm

I'm wanting to know if asymmetric tyres can be roated to the other side without any problems?
I know directional tyres can't be, they have to stay on the same side, but this can't be done with the staggered wheel setups.

I know the asymmetric tyres have an "Outside" and "Inside" sidewall, as opposed to a directional tyre which has rotation markings.

Once a asymmetrical tyre has been run on one side, it is harmful for it to be run in the opposite direction eg rotated to the other side?

Cheers.

There is no directional arrow on them (Potenza's at least), and if they are mounted correctedly the pattern can only be one way. So yes can be rotated no problem afaik.

Just keeping in mind with them being asymetrical, if you have uneven wear you arent able to counter it by rotating the tyres alone, like you can with directionals.

Yeah good point. I'll get a wheel alignment also, to make sure they don't wear uneven.
