noob question on superchargers

Postby fat_ae111 » Mon May 10, 2010 1:01 pm

hey guys;
ive recently bought a toyota vitz rs vvti 1.3
don't ask me why...coz i don't know either.

Im trying to put a blitz supercharger in mine.

Just wondering if i get the supercharger kit...are they like bolt on and thats it?

unlike if u are turboing it u gtta do oil feed and new fueling systems etc...

does anyone know where it's a good place in auckland to get supercharger kits installed?

your prob going to need more fuel.... as you will be running boost.

sometimes you can supercharge without more fueling but it would pay to get a AFR to monitor it

Superchargers have their own oil supply (its like thin clear sewing oil) as they dont see the heat a turbo sees.

If your fuel system in the car can flow enough and the ECU has a resonable fuel map you should be able to run it.

I believe you also need some form of switch on the accelrator to activate the supercharger at rpm above say 1500rpm, pretty sure you dont want it engaging whilst parking or crawling along in traffic.

The supercharged AW11 MR2 had an electromagnetic clutch setup for engaging \ disengaging the supercharger.

Do you just have the charger? If so then there will be a bit to do to it.
If you have the whole kit then if should just be a case of unbolting what you don't need and bolting on what's in the kit
