4AGE 16v diagnostic interfaces, gearbox question

Postby Vertigo » Mon May 17, 2010 8:06 am

Hey there,

Just got myself an AW11 (:D) and would like to be able to diagnose and treat any issues myself. I can probably get hold of the software to do so, but cant find any info about what interface the bluetop 4AGE uses - is it OBDi or OBDii? I would assume the former, as what Ive read suggests that OBDii was only for the 20vs, or even just the blacktop.

Any info you guys can russle up to help me here would be appreciated.

Also, while Im doing this, the AW11 I have has had an engine swap due to a busted engine much earlier. The new one is fine, but the gearbox tends to pop out of gear. Ive read that this is a C50 problem. Is there much that can be done, other than swapping the gearbox?

OBDzero - i dont think anyone had even thought about OBD way back then.

Do a bit of a google search for how to get the codes out of the computer... you have to put a jumper wire between 2 sockets and then count the flashes of the check engine light.

I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

hi there

nice bleach in the avatar you into anime?

anywho people have said this is a "c50" problem but not correct just a c5X early issue getting a later revised or lower ks gearbox will cure this.

as they said OBD nothing lol...

you can just bridge 2 pins in the diagnostics connector labled T to E1

this is without the key on then swtich the key on, if you get solid timed blinks everything is hunkydory.

if you get timed flashes in groups youl need to get the codes from www.club4ag.com
