how to wind kms back on ae111 dash

got a second hand dash today as old one revs wouldnt work. this one has done 100000 kms tomany ish so i can just wind the one didget. digging a pin in and pulling the opposite way hasnt worked and taking it apart looks like a night mare. any other options?

i tend to break things like that so i think ill buy another one. do yo know if a 4afe 111 levin will work. like plugs the same etc apart from end of redline is 8 but thats ok

just read the original post again. Just put the rev counter out of the new dial set and put it in with your old speedo. then you wont have to change the kms.

Why bother? Just don't like the look of the extra km's?

Just get a small sticker and put it on the dash :lol:

Oi quiet over the ditch there :lol: But seriously, i've changed dashes in my old car and never gave it a 2nd thought, sure carjam will show a drop / increase in KM's but easy to explain when it comes time to sell, if you need too, buyer of my car didn't give a crap. :)

On KE70 dashes, 670rpm = 1kmh. Work it out 8O

as the dial mechanisms are all plastic, you'd most probably end up stripping the cogs due to the time it takes to use a drill to roll back the numbers. I have an example on photobucket of me rolling numbers back as a test.

You'd also experience friction issues = heat and have to start stop all the time when using the drill.
