Smokey 4AGE Blacktop

Postby CXGPWR » Mon Aug 23, 2010 1:31 pm

I have a smokey 4age blacktop, only really smokes when its being trashed.

Eg 4 laps of manfield will chew through 1 litre of oil.

Has anyone tried the Brasso or sandblashing sand down the intake?
( i dont care about the motor so might give it a go )

Thoughts?

lol

The comments are halarious!

omg........ stop driving that thing and toe it to someone that will kick you in the nuts and take the car off your hands and go buy a honda

The problem is, you did it wrong. You gotta do the fuel system sand blasting treatment first. 25lbs in the gas tank, and THEN 25 lbs through the intake.......... DUH.

Can someone make this a sticky? this should be laughed at by all.

Hahahha, i've got another 24 pages of this to read when I get home from work.

I've seen that before, good reading. on a serious note I have heard of people putting a small amount of jiff, brasso or autosol into a motor in an attempt to break up the glazing on the bore and get the rings to seal again.
Personally I would only do it out of curiosity on a motor which I didn't care about but more than one person has said it works.

5000rpm blacktop brasso gurgling sounds like a plan!

I've got a bottle that's been sitting around for a while... Never use it because autosol works better for most stuff.

I'm pretty sure they put a few teaspoons of the chosen liquid down the spark plug holes and crank it a bit to spread it around. I wouldnt feed it down the intake as that could result in a valve grind as well, but hey if you don't care then whats the problem?

^ Choice, How bout both for an optimal result? A bit down the spark plugs, crank with the starter for a bit & then start it & down the intake?

Sounds like a plan, Markku bring that around next time your passing & we'll give it a go

I have a recollection of my friend doing the 4000rpm and pouring brake fluid slowly into the carb in a 1000cc Mini.

I don't recall why he was doing it (20 years ago), but the cloud of white smoke out the back was impressive.

He then went on to be a Jaguar specialist mechanic.

So, he was an expert at making cars smoke, then went on to be a Jag expert.... Fitting really

He was an interesting case ... last I heard from him a huge number of years ago he was putting a Fiat twincam into some sort of Mitsubishi rear drive vehicle.

that kind of engine swap is, how to put it.. more unusual than the mitsi-lux a friend has.
as for the doses of what to put in I have no idea so I would say start small and work your way up
