Need help, Not a Toyota

Postby B_giB » Tue Aug 24, 2010 8:39 am

I have a friend with a series 3 RX7 with a 20B in it, He just moved up from Nelson so he decided to transport it up to Auckland.

Now the dilemma.

When it got up, it had a flat battery, went to jump start it and a fuse was blown, replaced that, now we have noticed that the fuel pump isn't working.

Neither is the Microtech ECU.

Now my question is, would the ECU power/control the Fuel pump?

He has told me the ECU smells funny, like it has fried.

I didn't jump it. I was busy at the time, but if the terminals where put on the wrong way, would doing so cause this issue?

Many thanks guys/girls

Hell yeah.
Most likely something inside of ECU is fired (like protection diode and perhaps Power Supply circuit).

that could potentially $&#$% the ecu.

and yes, ecu usually has an output to the fuel pump, but that still depends on how the ecu was installed

have fun :P

Seriously. By the time I got there they where trying to turn it over. I was busy drinking a beer lol

The ECU is getting checked over as we speak. Hopefully whoever tuned still has the map saved.
