rim polishing

Postby TRD_TOY » Tue Aug 24, 2010 4:32 pm

hi guys

my car ( Aristo Vertex ) has factory polished 17" rims, i had it groomed after my service and it looks like an acidic type wheel cleaner has been used on them. I cleaned it in the weekend after all the rain and crap weather and found the rims look extremely dull compared to what they use to be....what can i use to make them shiny and all bling again??

cheers

Autosol would be my bet.

Or talk to Wheelfixit. http://www.wheelfixit.co.nz/

Nick is very good at what he does, best bet would be to get a clear coat put over the top after a good polishing.

are you sure its polished alloy or anodized silver polish, cos autosol will work on alloy but not really on the anodized, i had to get a set of my rims stripped of the anodized layer before they could start polishing them,

they will probly have used a degreaser on them. like simple green or similar. i tried it on my 19's once as an attempt at a quick clean and they came up all milky and faded. had to get nasty with a rag and autosol for 3 hours.
