clutch issue

Postby Boost_4_Life » Tue Aug 31, 2010 6:42 pm

I'm trying to find answers to a simple problem which i know nothing about

for moonbeams the hydraulic clutch on the starlet has been a bit suss. its a 4age 20v, t50 box, i know the clutch is standard but not sure which. im guessing its probably rwd configuration clutch as the 20v spline would be different?

anyhoo... that being so, how much does the bearing need to actually push forwards for the clutch to be fully engaged... just wondering if ive not quite got enough travel in the slave or something.... i'm not sure on the size of the master. the basic issue is that the clutch only engages right down near the floor. then suddenly during a stage the clutch will be operating nearer the top of travel... then come 'right' again... there is no air getting into the system that i can tell. thinking about changing to a braided line instead of the rubber section... but yea, just wondering how much travel the fork should be moving through, although i guess it depends on wear...
