20v driveshafts in AE92?

Postby molex » Thu Sep 16, 2010 2:11 pm

I've searched extensively without much luck, found some good AE101/AE111 compatibility information but none between AE92 and 20v stuff.

I've got an AE111 BZR donor for a 20v swap in my AE92 levin, at this stage I'm going to retain the AE92 gearbox as it shifts perfectly. Later stage might swap for a C56 with an LSD if I can hunt one down. I need to know if the AE111 driveshafts will bolt into the AE92 hubs/gearbox as my current ones are shagged.

Any help appreciated, even just general swap info between an AE111 and AE92 would be awesome.

We used AE111 Carib shafts in AE82 without any problems. We checked and it was not binding on the movement.

they will fit fine but i would swap over the gbox as well or find one so you can chuck it all in at once as i presume you have a c52 in their now? and the ratios are not as well suited to a blacktop. c56 is perfect match for blacktop power range.

I'm aware of the 3rd/4th gear ratio differences however it's not all that cheap/easy to find a decent C56, plus this is no race car.. don't need millions of hp or ideal gear ratios. My C52 I have is a known quantity and unfortunately my donor is an automagic.

So unless somebody reading this has a good condition C56 they would like to sell...? I'll be going with the C52

Thanks for the info, last thing I want when I'm swapping it all in is to discover that the bloody shafts are different spline or something stupid!
