Heat shrink - fuel resistant?

Postby DeeCee » Mon Mar 07, 2011 7:48 pm

Replacing the fuel pump at the mo and have done the wiring with metal butt connectors and covered with heat shrink.

Is the heat shrink fuel resistant or should i use the plastic butt connectors or a special heat shrink?

most of your average heatshrink isnt really isnt fuel resistant but for the occasional splash it should be fine. for ultimate resistance you can go for the dr-25 stuff. not cheap tho.

Thanks J

cost no concern - motto is "do it once, do it right"
It's the in-tank replacement, so would rather not have to take out the tank again to replace a blown pump.

Know where in the HV to get DR-25 heat shrink?

Cool website just found for motorsports electronics parts :)

I did the same thing yesterday. Spoke to an auto sparky who gave me some thick PVC crimps.
