AE101 FXGT - Tacho problem

Postby Santa'sBoostinSleigh » Sat Mar 12, 2011 10:33 am

CarpetBurns AE101 FXGT factory tacho has decided to stop working...

when driving along at 100kph it sits at about 500rpm, even when you give it death, it kinda just bounces around and might read 1000-1200rpm

easy fix?

i think ive got another dash etc in the parts car, so could fit that, but then will end up with a random odo reading

Any error codes? Tick in the box stuff but it will tell you if the ecu is unhappy about the rpm signal, you would think if the ecu was getting a dodgey signal the car would run a bit weird?

The might help, ae101 ecu pinouts, you could trace the cable from the ecu?

Hopefully some continuity testing should give you an idea of the issue

you can swap the tacho without swapping the speedo, they are separate.
