Ze fuel consumption pretty crap

Postby iamawesome » Fri Apr 29, 2011 4:33 pm

I have an 86 aw11 with a ze In it and it only gets around 250 k's round town and on trips gets arou d 320 max. Seems pretty shit for a 1600 even though its boosted. Running standard boost and only mod is a poddy that came on it. What is everyone else getting?

All depends on how you drive it.
How is your pod set up? Cold air intake?

Does it drive ok? Boost all right? checked for fault codes?

How many litres are we talking?

Been a while since I had my boosted AW but I recall getting 450ish from it.
Both those mileages sound pretty crap! Certainly 280k to a full tank is shocking for a big port n/a!!!

The Corolla gets around 300 - 350km per tank, and thats on a turboed 4age and a really small tank... think its 50 litres max. I don't drive it sedately either, the power is there for a reason

It's been a long time since I filled up an AW11, but I remember never getting more than 30L into my NA.

yeah the AW11's tanks are not much bigger than 30L - 35L at the very most

so its probably getting good milage its just a small tank :)

Maybe my memory is a little off then!

However I would still expect more than that. I could to Nelson - Chch on a tank easy and thats like 400k.
And sub 300 on a n/a is not right.

Had a 4agze doing 250km per tank, was because it was running cold all the time as soon as the thermostat was sorted it did 450 a tank.

So you did exactly that to a measured 30l over a few tanks?
