Water in supercharger

Postby Hachiroku » Mon May 16, 2011 2:39 pm

I've bought a 4agze that's been sitting for a while and the SC12 has got water in the rotor housing. I've pulled the outlet pipe off and drained it but there's still a greasy film in there. How can I clean out the rotors/housing without damaging it?

Yep I'm sure. I've drained the oil and it's good as gold (no water or other crap in it etc). The water has got into the rotor housing through the inlet pipe. Now the rotors have a kind of slimy film on them with beads of water that haven't drained out, if that makes sense.

I'd probably try using something like carb cleaner, should dissolve most things.

The SC rotors are teflon coated aren't they? Might be why they feel slippery?
