Ae92 multiple warning lights.

Postby blindnz » Sun Jun 05, 2011 1:13 pm

Havent driven the AE92 in about 6 weeks took it for a drive, and within about 30 seconds I had the engine overheating light the battery light and the taillight out dash lights come on.
Looking at the cabin voltmeter it looks like the alternator isnt charging the battery. i.e on 12V irrespective of revs.

I dont have a multimeter up here in Auckland but will probably get one this arvo. The question is would a faulty alternator throw all these warning lights?

Engine overheating light is likely the cat warning light, and yes a dead alternator throws up most lights
