What metal is used on this Apexi exhaust?

The purple-ish pipe that's used like in this pic. It seems more magnetic than my stainless steel bench, but not as magnetic as a mild steel bar so I am confused.

Different grades of stainless steel have different levels of magnetism. I'd say its stainless.

Cool thanks for the replies. Was just trying to figure out what wire to weld it with.

I would probably agree but its hard to say. My tutor was saying that you can tig weld mild with stainless rod just not stainless with mild rod so I would use stainless rod regardless and you should be sweet.

you can weld stainless with a mild steel rod, and vice versa,
only adverse effects is mild steel rod on stainless will rust

it will be a 400 series ferritic stainless steel. 400 series are magnetic and aren't very corrosion resistant, they generally only have just enough chromium added to class it as a stainless steel, the balance of the metal is mainly carbon steel, whereas a 300 series austenetic s/s has much more chrome, nickel and very little carbon, it is also non magnetic.
