With no restriction in the output line it won't generate high pressure, just lots of flow. Might be worthwhile putting a resistor/PWM circuit in to slow it down a bit and cut power wastage/fuel heating.

Or a float switch in the top off the surge tank with a timer so it runs once the fuel level drops below the float switch and keeps running for 10secs after switch closes again to top it up.

i was more wondering that the pumps have a shortn life if they not under presser?

Probably more due to reason you have a surge tank.. fuel starvation.

In tank pumps use the fuel as lubricant and coolant. no fuel at pickup = no cooling..

It's the fuel surge that kills the pumps, internal and external ate the same design inside.
as the rotary vane in them really speeds up when they get a bit of air,
and then when they get fuel back into them and the vanes are doing way too many RPM they can snap the drive inside them, or break the vanes.

It is hard to find something that can handle the surge but still supply high flow to keep the surge tank full.

Carb type electric pumps are best.
