can anyone tell me if there is a difference between towbars for imports and nz new 1.8 hatch backs, because i have bought a genuine toyota towbar thats for a zze122 hatch of trademe and it dont fit, one of the big reasons is the back exhaust mount that is part of the car is in the eay, i no the import 1.8's have an exhaust that exits on the other side and i'm wondering if this is why it won't fit.

Yeah, also the towbars Toyota NZ have developed are to suit the NZ new models only. Often the towbars will line up with an import chassis but theres always an exception to the rule like in this case.

the sticker on it says made for toyota new zealand though. part number is ac-141.

so found out its off a preface lift nz new hatch and ours is a facelift nz new hatch so they must have made some rear end changes.

Are you sure the towar isn`t for a 140 series Corolla(current shape)
