How do I remove exterior window trims on SVX10 Camry wagon?

Postby Mr Ree » Thu May 10, 2012 11:40 am

Hey guys,
I own an NZ new 97 camry wagon (last of the widebodys) and I have a few small spots of rust around the rearmost side windows, and the top corner of the windscreen, that I want to dremmel/rustkill/bog/paint before they get any worse and I start failing wof's.

I have the haynes owners manual but unfortunately it doesnt have any detail about removing the exterior trims, so Im hoping someone here can advise me on how to go about it as I really dont want to pull them off incorrectly and end up breaking lots of little securing body clips etc.

Any help appreciated

Thanks alot

P.S Also, what is the best rust killing product to use once I have ground out all the cancer?

Look up your car on toyodiy.com

However it's likely that you'd need to remove interior trim, to get to bolts that hold on the external trim.

Thanks for the reply.

I should have said in my original post that I already searched on toyodiy and for some reason or other, I cant seem to find my body type on there.

Hopefully I dont have to remove the rear interior as its a right PITA to do.

If it's a giant PITA, then that probably means that it's definitely required to do so
