KE35 with big brakes..

I have Nissan r32 4pot calipers on the front and AE101 disc/calipers on the back.

I'm wondering if a KE70 master cylinder will be ok to drive them?
As KE70 bigger then Ke35 one. Just.

Any recommendations??

What size is the Skyline master? KE70 is only 13/16". Maybe look to a Hilux master

i have vague memories from my hachi days of folks having trouble with the stock MC and nissan four pots.

but i also seem to recall that there is a skyline MC which will fit onto an AE86 booster, and hence presumably your KE70 also (perhaps with 86 booster? dunno if its different to KE70)

or something like that. google maybe?

Hey, that booster I got from you was good and I have some vacuum assistance now but still seam dot have to press hard to pull up.

I have a Mitzi Palermo one at the moment. Think it is 15/16". It is bigg enough but I wounded if it is to big.

What would be cool to know is if a ae86 booster fits into a ke3#.

Would be hellishly tight, I had to give my inner guard a few taps to fit the 86 booster in my car.
Hard pedal probably means too small a master.

Well, it can't, be the master because it's brand new and is nearly the same size as a 1".

Its funny, when you push the pedal the first 70% is nice and sensitive but then when you push the last 30% it feels like it has reached the end of its stroke and is very hard to push. So much so it feels like I am pressing against a brick wall.
it's like the stroke of the pedal is to short and it's not pushing the MC in enough.
Not sure what's going on.
Going to bleed them to see that makes a difference.

when you are talking first 70%, do you mean stroke of the pedal? if its travelling more than a few inches you've got issues

Yeah, hard to explain a feeling.

There's about 1.25" total travel. So the 1st inch is good and then hits a brick wall so I have to push real hard to get the last bit of braking to stop the car.

That's why I'm wondering if the stroke of my aftermarket MC is longer then what my KE pedal/booster is. But others have done this so must be something I'm missing.

That's why I want to know if a normal ke70 MC will work with the 4 pot calipers and disc rears. Any ideas?

Heres another question, might seem like a dumb question but...

Does it matter which Outlet port the front brakes come from on the Master Cylinder?

a bigger diameter master cylinder will make a pedal harder to push. adding a bigger diameter booster will make it easier to push.

what car is the master you're using now from?
has the ke booster and your master combination been done before with success?
did the master original come fitted to a car with front and rear disk brakes? if not, google 'residual pressure valve'. not related but if it originally had drums then may affect rear pad clearance with brake pedal released.

I cant answer for sure.. but theoretically if both the pistons in master are same diameter, then should push same amount of fluid, unless one has a limit on the stroke. but other problem may be the residual pressure valve if the front is different from the rear. like a ke30 master.

Have you had the master apart since buying it? if so, was there a screw half way down the cylinder that retains the piston and has it been screwed back in with the piston in correct spot?

Parts are:

Mitzi pajero 15/16" master for disc/disc model.
Ke70 booster, original ke35 one was stuffed and did not assist at all. Now the new ke70 booster assist's for the first 75% of pedal travel and then gets real hard again.
I got the idea for a post on toy speed and it was on toy mods as well.

R33 4 pot calipers front
Ae101 calipers rear

The problem is that i don't have assist for the whole pedal movement which leads me back to the booster being worn out.
I bleed the brakes the other night and found that I can push the pedal all the way to the floor when a nipple was open, so I have got enough stroke length.

yes it will matter what lines you have put on the ports of the master cylinder.

if your booster helps with the 1st part of your travel then it is fine( pretty much just a big diaphram in side) so it will work or it wont.
