Rims peeling

Not sure of this would be general or tech so stuck here.

Anyway my mags have started to peel and change colour after just 11months. Before i go back to the store I thought id ask on here what would cause it to do this.

heres a pic of 1 of the wheels, others are worse than this one but will try get better pics in the day.

Poor prep/paint processes, and poor quality control, I would think?

Cant think of anything else that would cause it to be honest.

Filigree corrosion. pinholes/chips in clear coat allowed moisture in, corrosion happens and since corrosion byproduct is larger than original ali it pushes paint up slightly, allowing more moisture in... keep repeating.
Reality: A nasty hallucination that is caused by excess blood in the alcohol stream.

So its safe to assume its a manufacturing defect or poorly made wheel? Just trying to get as much info as possible in case the mag shop try and weasel their way out of it

Some pads would do that to a low quality clear coat. the dust can be pretty abrasive..

they are roughly 11-12months old. The first 6 months it was driven on regularly to work and back, approx 30km a day but regularly cleaned. The next 6 months the cars been sitting most of the time and prob done 200km so hasn't seen much brake dust. If the mags were a few years old then I would accept the wear on them but not after a year. My Diesel d1r's are 2 n half years old and still look like the day i bought them.

Will find out this week what the mag shop has to say

Definitely a warranty issue.
