3SGTE Cam pully dowels

Postby headshotnz » Mon Dec 10, 2012 6:39 pm

Upon rebuilding my engine I noticed both pulleys had 3 different positions you could set them too, has any one experimented with this or know the correct position they should be in.

From what I understand they are for different regions.

A quick Google search showed no results.

The pulleys are shared between a couple of engines. They are marked on the gears.

by using the 3 different dowel slots in the cam pulley you can tweak your cam timing by a third of a tooth at a time which equates to 3.something degrees from memory.
