5stud conversion

I've been playing with the idea of doing a 5 stud conversion on my ae111. What are my options? Could I use Celica hubs or something similar? Is welding up the old stud holes and 're- drilling the hubs an option? Maybe it isn't something I want to do depending on what's involved.

Any info that could help would be appreciated thanks.

The easiest and the safest way is just to press in Celica spigots (eg ST202 for 55mm or ST18X 54mm).

St185 drive flanges wont fit into ae111 hubs I tried it with my setup

you can use st185 front hubs for 5x100 or if you want 5x114.3 then you need to get rav 4 drive flanges to swap over

cant really help with the rear as my setup is for 4wd

Look on toymods theres a guy with an ae101 thats gone to 5 stud

Note he is running a turbo setup

Wheel options. But would like to see what is involved to see if I should bother or not. Plus Ilike playing with my car changing bits and pieces, just the generic car enthusiast.

How does the turbo setup affect the hubs? Mine is turbo too.

Because if you're running a turbo you probably want an E5x gearbox, which has beefy big axles with larger splines.
Reality: A nasty hallucination that is caused by excess blood in the alcohol stream.

The ae111 s/s cvs have the same splines as the ones out of the supercharged setup and the gt4 celica setup :p

I was more meaning he went 5 stud because of the power he was running

That is odd, I am pretty sure the splines are the same...

I am also pretty sure that the hub across all of them is the same:

Regarding ST185 hub not fitting, I am curious what exactly did not fit as ST1XX uses bearing # 90369-38003, same as AE101 (including AE111 as per http://www.toyodiy.com/parts/p_J_1999_T ... _4303.html) and others:

In the ae101s the GT-Z and SS GT-Apex hub is different, bigger spline etc. with no GT-Z in the ae111 series they didn't need the bigger hub so just had the one for the lot i guess.

Note the two different part numbers for the hub.

I'm running the e58 box and shafts they do slide straight into the ae111 hubs.

The st185 drive flanges (the piece that goes into the bearing) don't fit into ae111 hubs unless the workshop I asked to do it lied to me

The st185 and ae111 hubs are really similar anyway so you should be able to just swap them over complete and if you want 5*114.3 just press the gt4 flange out and press in a rav4 flange

Rav4 E250 axles and St185 GT4 axles all go straight into AE 100/101/104 front hubs as I've have used them.

pretty much all toyota mid sized vehicles use the same outter hub spline, the only things I have found to be different is Windom and V6 camrys which have bigger spline.
