quick question!!

does any one know on the ae101 4agze lsd gearbox mount the front one should the arrow on the mount point toward the engine or away from the engine? i have forgotten how its goes and also has anyone ever thought about getting there mounts solid filled or at-least get that front one solid filled would it stop it from being so weak?

Arrow points to front of car
I used to think that the orange and green tictacs gave you special powers. The orange ones would make you stronger and the green ones would make you faster. So i used to eat some green ones and run around my lounge as fast as i could, then eat the orange ones and try to pick up the sofa. I wish it were true!

I poured a set out of urethane, worked great.

If i did it again I would only do the front and rear though, doing the side ones transferred a lot of vibration to the car.

Rob got his from Topmark, but they've since shut down I believe.

Not sure who else carries the same sort of range of compounds that they used to.

here is some more detail. The product i used was F82 urethane.
(Shore 82)

Finally got around to making some new engine mounts today.

First I made templates to locate the metal pins when I poured the new mounts.
I put the black tape on the templates so the wood doesn't stick to the mounts.


Then I cut / burnt the old rubber out followed by giving them a clean with a wire brush.



These are the 4 templates. (the depth of the central hole is the length of the pin that protrudes from the mount.

Then it was a matter of setting the central pin in the locating hole and lining up the metal bit with the template.

Then I mixed up the urethane and poured it into the mounts

This is the urethane I used. I needed 800g to do all four mounts. Its mixed at a 2:1 ratio.

Finished product. Just needs 24h @ 25deg followed by 16h @ 71deg to cure the urethane properly. Then they should reach maximum hardness in about a week.

Cheers, I was pleasantly surprised how well they turned out looking.

There currently cooking :ermm:

71deg C for the next 8 hours.

Got bored of waiting. So have just installed the mounts I must say I quite like them. Certainly feels more direct when you mash the go pedal.

Car does shake a bit more at low revs but its certainly not unbearable.

Now I will find out how durable there going to be. :idk:

Who ever It was with me when we went for a ride in BZG's car with solid engine mounts will remember what its like then you start the car and it shakes into life. Mine is similar now but maybe a little less violent lol.



As per above post their show room is now closed. but if you look on their home page is says to email them any inquiries. So maybe they still have stock.
