Sw20 boost control

Postby MR2SIK » Tue Dec 24, 2013 9:36 pm

Ok this is doing my head in,
Car came with the turbosmart dual stage boost controller, no matter how often I messed with the settings, it would hit 13-15 psi once, then go back to 8-10psi.
Ended up getting a blitz duel solenoid sbc, set it to 14psi auto learn and would get 10 psi. Turning it off would see factory 7-8psi.
Have since found the t vsv was still connected, cut the hose between it and the actuator and blocked off both ends, now will only get 5psi regardless if the ebc is on or off? How does this work??
Had also tried it on manual duty cycle mode using a variety of % between 50-100 with no change.

I pulled the hose for the fuel cut/ factory gauge back before all this too.

Guessing it's something obvious and simple that I have overlooked :x

Hey, at least it sounds like a 3s.

ditch the electronic and get a manual one like a GFB atomic for a start, my old MR2 pulled 185+kw atw running a steady 16psi.

If anything the manual one is simpler to setup and may pin point you to other issues.

If its locking up at 5psi regardless is sounds like the factory actuator on the turbo may be stuck slightly open and not allowing you to build above 5psi ?

Stick with the EBC and get it working.

Pulling the plug for the t/vsv is much easier than cutting and plugging those hoses. Much quicker to return to stock as well.

Bring it over on the weekend and I'll have a look for you.
