Map sensors gen 3 3sge and others

Postby mcfatty1000 » Tue Mar 11, 2014 3:22 pm

Hi

I've got an Mr2 with a gen3 engine running from a gen 2 ecu and loom, now I've managed to source a new loom and ecu, but not entirely sure what I need to have to make it full plug in swap; I'm assuming its still running the afm from the old engine for the input to the old ecu, so will need to have a map sensor for that, but what else is likely still on the engine from the old one in order that its running the old loom?

Also, what other cars/models share the same map sensor?

Thanks

Open engine lid and have a look??? Gen2 3sge didn't have an AFM, so if you find one i'd be pretty surprised.
Reality: A nasty hallucination that is caused by excess blood in the alcohol stream.

Check that your injectors are the GEN3 ones.
It's a bit hard to say what you need when we don't know what external electronic parts (ie your map sensor for example) you have from the GEN 2 loom.

Yeah - I know, just realised that in doing that, I don't actually have that much knowledge of what things look like.

but, yes, no afm (getting my gens mixed up I think?)
And have changed the injector already.

Thanks
