hey there all just recently got green stickered lol for being to low / loud but thats another story.

so im trying to get all the mods i can in before i get a cert.

i recently installed ae111 disc brakes on my ae100 wagon which had drum. and i am confused to how i adjust the hand brake evenly and correctly i know your ment to wind the piston in to fit the new pads but this also affects your hand brake right ? i wound them both back untill the new pads were snug but now the right hand side locks up more than the left when i pull the hand brake . so my question is what is the correct way of adjusting the rear hand brake ? to make it evenly as possible ?

this question prob has been asked heaps sorry but i couldn't find much when i did a search.

any help much appreciated.

Yank on the handbrake many times, assuming that the gear inside the caliper is not rusted it will self adjust. Make sure there is a slack in the cable when the handbrake is off, other wise the ratchet inside will never release and will not self adjust.

Back off handbrake, 10mm next to handbrake lever.
Bleed up all brakes, work way furthers to closes to master cylinder,
Take for good drive where get brakes hot, then find carpark where car reverse car 20 or 30ks and stop hard. Repeat half dozen times.
Then adjust handbrake back on. Until feels good within 2 to 4 clicks.
This was only way to get my factory ae92 GTI rear brake to push pistons out and bead to disc, after getting capliers rebuilt and new pads.
Also found after fitting braid brakes line handbrake got better. Still disc handbrakes suck wouldn't trust on steep hill.
My wof guy said if stalls car good enough. They struggle to stop brake rollers.
