Headlining Removal Caldina GT, ST215

Postby Tintop » Fri Dec 11, 2015 1:12 pm

The 'blankey blank' sunroof has stopped working.

Tilt button does nothing at all
Slide button will move motor a few turns in either direction until it lurches to a halt.
Power is on at switch, light works, and there is continuity through all switch positions.

It looks like I will need to remove the headlining to get at it.

Anyone carried out this operation before ??
Is it as time consuming as it looks ?

Any tips an how to go about it ?

Thanks

If it's like 99% of Toyotas there will be a board under the fabric that it attaches to. You pull away the trim around the headliner. Undo the dome lights, Jesus handles, sun shades, rear vision mirrors etc. Once it's all free, remove the headliner out the back.
