Engine Swap - 1ZZFE to 2ZZGE (Fielder)

Postby taran » Sat Dec 16, 2017 7:34 am

Anyone know of any engine/transmission swaps done from 1ZZFE to 2ZZGE in the Corolla Fielder?

Currently have a ZZE122G and Interested in a complete swap (engine/transmission/ECU/harness)

Wondering how difficult and expensive it is

Save your money and just buy a Fielder Z, they're not that expensive. Would be cheaper than converting over a 1ZZ. Just been reading through forums, its' more work than you think.. a couple of people saying that they did it and it wasn't worth it.

Is that the way with every conversion when you can buy the correct thing to start with.

We have a 2ZZGE fielder and they are great, but swapping from the base spec to the 2ZZ
wont be as good and will cost you more,
and when you go to sell it,
it's just another shitbox with an engine transplant.

Sell yours and buy one, best option by far.

Not justifiable in NZ where the things are cheap and common. Maybe if you got a 2ZZ and trans free, but they're still worth decent money from a wreckers.
