2016 Yaris wheel alignment/steering centred

Postby Hbomb » Mon Aug 27, 2018 11:22 pm

Hi,

My wife has a 2016 manual Yaris and recently had the left front wheel bearing replaced under warranty. Since then, the steering feels a little off centre so you are slightly pulling the wheel to the right when driving.

We have had a full set of new tyres since then and two wheel alignments (1 at Firestone and 1 more at Toyota - I took it back to try and fix the steering alignment).

I'm wondering if it's in my head and that its purely the road camber at fault, as it doesn't seem to wander to far when hands off the wheel? But I feel the wheel isn't centred...but not by much. Maybe it's vague steering attributed to the Yaris as it's hardly a performance car??

I'm pretty picky with stuff like alignment, must be ocd.

Is there anyway to correct this?? And can you recommend anyone good in Auckland?? I'm on the shore but would travel.

Thanks! I tried searching but couldn't find much.

New bearings are significantly tighter than worn in ones, could well be bearing drag. I'd put a few hundred km on it personally before getting concerned.
