power to dvc sub

Postby deaf_rattle » Sun Sep 24, 2006 8:05 pm

If im giving a dvc sub (2x4ohm coils) 300ish watts rms at 4 ohms to each coil (4 channel amp bridged to 2 channel) is the sub getting 600watts rms? or is it only getting the equivilant to 300watts rms, since thats the max power each coil is getting?

the sub goes alright, but doesnt go as well as i thought 600watts would sound like. But in saying that it looks and sounds so effortless.

Cant wait to get a new amp to crank some more power into it.

What sub and amp, and whats the box?

600w into a DVC sub is no different to 600w into an SVC sub. You could have 100 coils being given 6w each, and it would act largely the same.
