In my experience, the higher end Kenwood units tend to be quite well specced features wise (ie 5v pre outs, 24bit DAC's) but by and large they're a shit to use. The menu structure isnt as easy as say Pioneer.

I had a good listen to some Infinity Kappa's,refernce and perfect speakers today I was really impressed with the sound of the Kappa's with its clarity also the Reference 6' speaker sounded really good aswell.also listened to a Rainbow brand speaker but I did'nt think it sounded as defined or as clear as either Infinity speaker but in saying this I did'nt like the sound of the Perfect at all.

Amps well I looked at Soundstream lil wonder 4 channel LW4.480 has anyone used this or can give me any feed back..

Head-unit well I looked at a Alpine IDA-X001 again feed-back would be great. It looked pretty easy to use no drama's there so thats a plus.

I just got a set of the Soundstream "SST4.0"'s (4" two way) and I am hugely impressed, if the quality of their other speakers is similar i would most definatly recommend them.

I've recently installed a Pioneer DEH-P6950ib in my car, and I'm very happy with it. Very user friendly, 4V preouts, and looks nice and clean.

I'd look into DLS components if you can as well, I run a pair of R6A's in my ITR and nothing else, IMO there's no requirement for a sub 8)
