Typical Stereo Draw in amps and 24v wiring?

Phat beats and out-of-luck crooks. Again, read the Disclaimer first.

The backup lead doesn't draw much if any current so , so long as you're careful you could use a couple of resistors from the 24V backup lead wired as a voltage divider to supply the 12V backup. The 3 cent fix.

In fact a 12V Zener diode and resister would be better. Cost $1 more.

Most newer stereos take most of the power from the constant/backup (12v+) wire.
Which is why many people run that cable back to the battery in more powerful headdecks to avoid volt drop through the factory wiring.
Used to be the other way round in older stereos, the ACC wire fed most of it, as many radios old didnt even need any battery backup.
