Caldina Stereo Install Problems.. power wires etc.

Postby wipava_454 » Fri Jun 19, 2009 5:05 pm

Hey guys

currently in the process of installing a new headunit into my caldina GTT.

i found snwtoy's diagrams in another thread

Image

however when I connected the constant power/ground/accessories power wires to the corresponding wires on my head unit I get no power, now I know the new head unit is definitely working as I connected it directly to the battery, and the old cd/md player was working when I took it out, is this diagram definitely correct? Any other reasons as to why it wouldn't be working?

any help is much appreciated

cheers

Not a standard loom in the caldina, not sure if you can even get adaptors.

installdr is generally only good for america cars or general wiring codes. If the caldina wiring code is as different as is said, then its not going to be that helpful.

When I did the last caldina install, I didn't use the factory loom except for the ignition wire to turn the system on and off by ignition.

wipava_454 - what year is your caldina?

I know of a few others who have used the above diagram with no problems, the diagram is from a 1997 GTT, which should be compatible up to at least 1999. 2000 is the facelift model, and could be different?

mine was the same as snwtoys. check your fusebox, pull the small tray out in the lower dash where your right knee is, its behind there from memory.

if its a st195 they should be in the same area.

blue/yellow def is constant
and brown is earth

as matt said, some have grey as accessory.

If you can get hold of a multimeter. turn to volts, test between brown and blue/yellow, make sure your gettin 12v. Then check between brown and the one you have wired to acc (with the key off first, then flick it to acc).

From what you have said, my money is on a blown fuse
I had vtax :(
