ERROR 3 on my 'Toyota' 6 In Dash CD changer

Any thoughts on an easy fix? - Last time this happened I had to remove it & send to Fujitsu Ten in Wgtn to get repaired.

Ideally I'd like to take it somewhere local in Chch to get it sorted.

Any recommendations.

Fujitsu Ten = Eclipse.
Error 3 = can't read CD properly = laser alignment.

Buy yourself a new unit Mark. Easier than flogging an old horse.
Otherwise it's either Next electronics or Wavetech to fix and it will probably cost as much as a new headunit.

Alternatively, if you can find a second hand one, then all good. I'll have a look at PnP and see if any of the old units are still up there. Prob not but worth a try.

Yep - Next are a rip. Then again, most repair places are. Deposit down and not refundable if there is no reason for repair. All the more reason to get a new headunit with more features and integrate into one's car

(side note: i've been trying to push as many people off the system 10 system for yonks on the american celica forums. There are some stalwarts, but the cost of getting something else with more features is bang for buck now. No real reason not to nowadays)
