ALARM GURUs - Car alarm as ignition?

Postby metric » Thu Apr 22, 2010 2:28 pm

I have a older vehicle that has no ignition just a couple of switchs on the dash and a start button, and also the door locks are shaved off so there is actually no way of locking it at all.

What i what to do is Rig a car alarm or equivalent as the ignition, so the arming/dissarming is used to turn the fuel pump and ignition on and the engine start is used to crank it over. All operated from the key ring and Yes there will be some master kill switches in there

Something like this (excuse the diagram, more than a little rusty) with a signal coming out of the alarm to hold the ign on.

Does anyone know whether this is at all possible?

Any recommendations as what to buy?

What is the point of LEDs?
you could connect two relays in parallel, or run IGN and fuel pump off same relay.

what i would do is use a switch for the standard ignition and just have an alarm which imobilizes this.

this is how you would wire it.

LOL confused much

We have a four channel receiver that will work quite well in this situation (or a two channel receiver if that is all you need) So you would have remote ignition, remote start and could use the other two channels for what ever you like, doors, boot etc :)

It can be programmed to have the relay's latch (for ignition) and pulse (for start) etc :)
