Replacing lost remote options

Postby tiny2009 » Sun Oct 28, 2012 5:33 pm

Got a 1998 Camry that came with no remote locking fob when I got it, didn't think much of it as I just went old school. But stopped by a keysmith dude today who recons he can replace the FOB and reprogramme it for about $160.

Anyone done this before with a factory system? Any other or better options out there?

It's a GLX so has got the factory security system if that makes any difference.

Email Mark through the sponsors section / Toyota thread.

I got a remote locking keyring off him for a car a couple years back. Different car, but was readily available. Not sure what factory security system your car has though. Programming of the remote I got took like 15 seconds.

Easy fix, overnight parts from Mark (1I1) waaay cheaper than original solution.
