hi guys. can anybody give me info. on where or how i can get my power cable from the battery to the boot ? where to drill hole ??? cheers

u connect ure pwr wire to the battery, and on my rolla there is a rubber bung in the fire wall, and i jst took that out and pushed the wire thru and it came out under the glovebox. Then jst threadded it thru under the carpert to the boot , duno bout ure levin tho

I wouldn't take the rubber bung right out... if you do run the power cable through a hole in steel at least protect it with a bung or with some loom tube to stop any risk of abrasion, which will be shortly followed (no pun intended) by a nice short out! But have a look under the glovebox type area, and have a mate look in the engine bay... wiggle a few bits and pieces to get your bearings as to where everything appears in the engine bay, and go from there. It's also a good idea to shield the power cable in the engine bay with loom tube, especially if it's close to any moving or potentially hot objects!

On the newer cars I've done installs in, I've normally run the power cable via any cable tubing type stuff that most newer cars seem to have, and always shield the cable when it's running over sharp edges or corners with some loom tube, and where it's running over large flat areas, I tape it down with duct tape.

These will save you a lot of time and hassel.

An amp needs a power cable from the battery and a negative cable leading to the chassis to ground. Its best to lightly sand around your grounding point then spray it will clear coat after the ground has been mounted properly to prevent rusting.

You also need a remote wire leading from the HU to the amp. This is so the amp turns on when the HU turns on. Alternatively you can run the car ACC to turn the amp on if your HU doesn't have this.

Oh and fuse your power cable as close to the battery as possible.

This saves cars from burning up.

cut a small slit in the factory grommet and run through the firewal through the normal factory wiiring grommet. Your 4ga shuold feed behind you air con unit (if you have one located behind the glove box..) and then you shuold be able to feed the 4ga appropriately to the rear of the car..

pull up the side sills and run underneath the carpet - if you really want to have fun, pull your seat out as well and firmly attached the wire to the floor with some duct tape or cable tie bases and cable ties
